Children Section:
In this section children find books of knowledge and entertainment, also we have CDs of Poems, Stories etc. This section is also equipped with indoor games facility.
Text Book Section:
This section has facility of reference books related to education & competitive exams.
Senior Citizen Section
A different section’s for Senior Citizens is available where they can sit and enjoy reading.
Multimedia Section:
This section contains magazines and other books. This department also provides CDs to the members which they can access it in the library or take it to their home.
Section for Visually Impaired
A special Section for the visually impaired is under development. This section would cater needs of Visually Impaired members.
Daily News Paper & Magazines
This section has various daily Newspapers and Magazines; approx. 700-800 readers utilize this section to update themselves with latest news & information.

Reading Section:
This section facilitates students to come with their own reference materials between 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and enjoy the calm environment to study.
Women’s Reading Section:
This section facilitates women to come with their own reference materials between 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and enjoy the calm environment to study.
Mobile Library:
The Library has two Mobile Library Van’s providing reading opportunity to citizens who are not able to access the library. One of them circulates the entire district and the other is only for Gandhinagar city and surrounding village of the Taluka. These mobile Library Van’s visit its destinations on regular intervals.
Awareness Campaigns:
To make people aware of the advantages of reading the library conducts various awareness programs like Drawing Competition, Essay Writing, Hand Writing Competition, Debates etc. Seminars are conducted wherein noted Writers come in contact with their readers.
Computerization:
In the era of computers Gandhinagar Library has implemented computerization to maintain records of its books and information of its members. Library uses SOUL Library Management Software through LAN to provide access of all its information. Readers can also access the books information online through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
Modernization & Developmental Programs:
The Govt. of Gujarat has sanctioned a budget of Rs. 3 Crores to modernize and develop State Central Library as a knowledge Center. Under these developmental plans the library would be fully connected with internet and various other facilities would be included for the advantage of its readers & members.
